Technical details

Ring weight

Thickness range: 0,30 – 5,00 mm
Latitude range: 10 – 650 mm
Rings: till 20 kg / mm Bandwidth
Rods: 500 – 5000 mm Length

Ring weight of steel bands
With a starting weight for the hot strip coil of 20 tons and a width of 1300 mm, the result is a weight of approx. 15 kg/mm strip width. This would also be the optimal ring weight of the cold rolled strip. As a rule, however, the ring weight is limited by other specifications, such as

  • Bearing facilities (weight and outside diameter)
  • internal transport devices (load capacity)
  • Handling devices on the punching machine (weight)
  • Reel size (internal diameter) and load capacity (weight)
  • Reel clearance (outer diameter)

And so the ring weight can be determined an example:

  • maximum ring – outer diameter Da = 1000 mm
  • Ring – inner diameter Di = 400 mm
  • Bandwidth b = 130 mm

according to the diagram, this results in a weight of 5.2 kg per mm strip width and thus a ring weight of 676 kg.

Practice shows that optimization, i.e. increasing the ring weight, results in significant savings:

  • Price reduction due to large ring weight
  • Reduction of ring switching costs
  • better utilization of the punching machine
  • Capacity gain

Check your circumstances and order documents, it can be worth it! We gladly support you.

Pack winding

Narrow strips up to a width of 85 mm are wound up next to each other in one core up to a coil weight of max. 3500 kg. The advantage of this presentation lies in the long running time and the small amount of waste.

Optimization of the ring weight

The possibilities of the plant:

  • Cold strip dimension width 5 – 80 mm, Dicke 0,5 – 3,0 mm
  • Ribbon cross-section min. 2,5 mm², max. 90 mm²
  • Band qualities DC01 – DC04, St 37 – St 70, Ck10 – Ck 75, as well as similar
  • Strengths 280 – 800 N/mm²
  • Spool weight up to 3500 kg
  • Pack width 150 – 550 mm
  • Ring inner diameter 400 mm
  • Ring outer diameter 550 – 1160 m
